Using the Patient Portal to Request Refills

A New Way to Request Refills!

Is your child taking a long term medication that requires regularly contacting us for refills, such as medications to treat ADHD? In the past we asked you to leave a voicemail on our dedicated voicemail refill line when your child needed a refill. That was the old way of requesting a refill - now we have something better! We would like to encourage you to use our Patient Portal when needing refills. Once you have a patient portal account you will be able to quickly request a refill for your child's medication with just a few easy clicks. You can even use our mobile app to request a refill from your handheld device! If you can't use the portal or don't like to use a portal we'll still have our voicemail option available, but we think the portal will be a great option for most people.


Why Should I Change How I Request Refills?

We think you'll find using our portal much quicker than navigating our phone tree and leaving a voicemail message. You'll be able to clearly indicate which pharmacy you'd like the refill sent to so that there is no confusion. You'll also receive a confirmation message when the prescription is sent so you'll always know when the refill has been sent!.


Why Would Valley Pediatric Group Like Me to Make this Change?

Because the request comes directly from you into our Electronic Medical Record there is less room for error or confusion. Your refill request will be sent directly to the prescribing doctor without requiring a member of our staff to listen to the message, type it into our system and then send it to the doctor. This will also decrease return calls needed to clarify messages we are uncertain about. Finally, this will be a big time saver and frees up our staff to handle other tasks.

Once you have registered, a member of our staff will review your registration and activate your account. Signing up for our portal only takes a few steps.
